Job Description

SUMMARY: This supervisory position is in support of the Company’s Finance team. The individual must be willing to work under pressure and take on other finance duties and ad-hoc assignments as assigned by Head of Finance and immediate supervisor to improve work processes for the Company and the Department. The individual should be a self-starter and be receptive to job rotation and work re-assignment as required to complement overall department work plans. He/she must be able to commit to Company and department deadlines. A self-starter, the individual will be in charge of the full spectrum of Accounts Payable function.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Under minimal supervision, the individual is preferred to exhibit bachelors-degree-level skill sets to supervise finance work processes and financial record keeping of a complex nature in SAP ERP system. Supervision may be exercised over the work of a small number of clerical personnel assigned to the financial record-keeping unit. Oversight over Accounts Payable (AP). Have a good working knowledge of Accounts Payable accounting best practices and corresponding SAP functionalities. Able to supervise and perform the duties of carried out by fellow accounting specialists in the department and provide guidance as required. Experience in other accounting functions - Fixed Asset, Accounts Receivable, Treasury & Liquidity Management, data analytics, accounting best practices - will facilitate future job rotation and career growth. Financial/ Profitability Analysis and ad-hoc assignments will be assigned according to the incumbent’s working knowledge.


  • Must have working knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable, the ideal candidate would be able to supervise and handle full-spectrum AP daily functions in both manual-entry and automated-process environment.
  • Graduate-level accounting knowledge required.
  • Must have working knowledge and experience in financial accounting principles with keen business sense;
  • expert user of computer/office software and applications;
  • experience in SAP system is a must;
  • excellent analytical and interpersonal skills; and
  • capable of creative problem solving with ability to develop new methods/models of data extraction and work processing where none exists, including giving guidance to team member(s) day-to-day functions.
  • Good understanding of controls and best practices required of AP processes.
  • Be receptive to job rotation and/or new job assignments as required to balance workload and skill sets within the department.
  • Be receptive to ad-hoc projects/ tasks, as needed.
  • Able to guide fellow co-workers to adopt accounting best practices.
  • Other duties could include:
    • Perform monthly/periodic reviews of key AP, AR, and Fixed Assets functions and implement change management as required to improve department standards.
    • Design, implement and maintain financial reports to meet Finance Department reporting requirements and to provide management with financial performance data for their respective departments; generate monthly reports on a timely basis after implementation phase is complete;
    • Prepares journal vouchers for entry in ledgers, posts entries and proves balances on various ledgers;
    • Takes trial balances and prepares summary statements of ledger balances;
    • Reviews and checks a wide variety of complex account keeping records and reports;
    • Reconciles bank statements with cash books;
    • May supervise the work of subordinate clerical staff;
    • Uses computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments;
    • Ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and established accounting standards, procedures and internal controls.
    • Liaising with external and internal auditors, tax agents and relevant authorities.
    • Financial reporting deadlines to be complied with as expected in accounting profession.
