Java Developer
Location:  San Francisco, CALIFORNIA
Position Type:  Full Time, Temporary to Permanent
Job Description

•Build underlying services and systems to support hosted financial business applications
•Ability to work on different layers of the application stack including Front-End, Middle-Tier, and Backend 
•Work with technologies that include web services, JSP/HTML, Java, JMS, and relational databases (i.e. Oracle/MS-SQL)
•Help define and use generalized system services and components as well as the supporting data models
•Design and implement reusable components and allow for confident refactoring.
•Help to create and enforce coding and process standards for application development, as well as software engineering best practices.
•Fix defects, implement enhancements and work with customers to resolve issues
•Interact and communicate effectively across the organization, specifically with Product Management and QA during all phases of the SDLC with documentation, training and customer support


•3+ years with J2E (e.g. Java, JSP, HTML, XML, JDBC, Servlet and JSF)
•3+ years with designing and implementing software using OOP principles
•Experience with Oracle and MS-SQL development (e.g. SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, DTS/SSIS and Analysis Services)
•Strong problem-solving skills -- must be able to think critically and independently
•Involvement in a number of full product development lifecycles (experience with Agile development is a plus – specifically Scrum techniques is a big plus)
•Design, architect and implement new features, modules or applications that support and integrate with the existing platform and infrastructure
•Experience with test driven development and running through detailed test cases and unit tests (JUNIT)
•Work independently to complete development tasks
•Must be adaptable, flexible, organized, detail oriented, work well in a team environment, and have a strong drive for success.
•Exhibit the ability to conduct Code Reviews and provide critical and constructive feedback to other developers
•Demonstrate a working knowledge of design patterns and frameworks
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
